GS1 DataBar Stacked (DataBar Stacked)
Two-row stacked variation of GS1 DataBar engineered for narrow, curved, or cylindrical fresh produce labels where full omnidirectional linear width cannot fit.
Governing Specification: ISO/IEC 24724:2011
Data Format & Required Fields
Splits the 14-digit GTIN payload across two stacked rows separated by a separator pattern, cutting horizontal symbol width in half.
Allowed Character Set14 numeric digits (or with (01) prefix).
Payload Length Rule Between 14 and 18 characters
Required GS1 Structure Encodes standardized GS1 Application Identifiers (AIs). Unit-level and master packaging require primary identification (e.g. GTIN-14 or SSCC-18) combined with variable batch and serialization attributes for supply chain verification.
Check Digit / Checksum Rule Requires a verified modulo-10 check digit to prevent scanner misreads and data transposition errors.
Example Valid Format
(01)00300012345671Industry Guidance & Practical Applications
